Today I have just rooted my LG ProLite and I can say it is easy work for you guys if you like to do it. Just to mention, I have KitKat 4.4.2 on my phone and I don’t know how it works on Jelly Bean 4.1.2. Also, I don’t want to be responsible if something goes wrong, so do it on your own risk.
I used this method from lgprolite blog and did it just like it is explained.
Why to root. Best answer is – if you don’t know why, then don’t do it.
I rooted my phone to clean system a bit. In this way I can remove unnecessary applications and free some internal storage and RAM consumption as well. After rooting KitKat and installing ES File Explorer I have deleted pre-installed LG applications. Now I can browse system files and take a look inside to see how it works. This way I can see all system folder structure and see android file system logic.
Also, I can change default apps with the one I choose. For example, I don’t like KitKat 4.4.2 default FM Radio app and I will replace it with JellyBean default app. Later I will write a post of changing apps and all process of how to change original app with a new one.
